Looking for fun and meaningful props for your engagement session? Check out these six creative ideas—perfect for adding personality and intimacy to your photos while still keeping the focus on your love story!

Props aren’t always my vibe (I’m all about keeping the focus on you!), but I will admit that the right prop can add something special. Props can help tell your story, bring out your personality, or create playful and intimate moments. Whether it’s something sentimental or simply a way to make your session feel more relaxed, these low-key ideas will elevate your engagement photos without stealing the spotlight. Take a look at my top recommendations!

1. Pizza and a picnic blanket

There’s something undeniably charming about a casual picnic setup. A pizza and a cozy blanket not only give you something to do with your hands but also create a warm, intimate vibe. Plus, it’s a nod to the real moments you might share as a couple—who doesn’t love pizza?

2. Champagne and glasses

Nothing says “celebration” like popping a bottle of bubbly! Bring a bottle of champagne (non-alcoholic works just as well!) and a pair of elegant glasses to toast to your engagement. The action shots of popping the bottle, and pouring or clinking glasses can be so playful and romantic.

3. A favourite book or journal

For couples who love to read or share meaningful written words, bringing a favourite book or journal can add a personal touch. Imagine cozying up with your partner as you flip through pages together—it’s an intimate and subtle prop that’s all about connection.

4. A pet

Your furry friend is part of the family! If you have a well-behaved pet, bringing them along can make your photos feel even more special. Just be sure to have a leash, treats, and someone to help manage them when they’re not in the frame.

5. Coffee cups

Are you both coffee lovers? Bringing a pair of cute coffee cups or mugs can add a warm and cozy vibe to your session. Whether you’re sipping or just holding them, they’re a great way to create natural, relaxed poses.

6. Something sentimental

Think about items that hold special meaning for your relationship. It could be a handwritten letter, a gift you’ve exchanged, or even a vintage keepsake. These small, meaningful touches can make your session feel uniquely yours.

Let’s use props to tell your story!

Remember, the best “props” for your engagement session are your connection and personality as a couple. Props should enhance the story, not overpower it. Keep it simple, meaningful, and true to who you are!
